  1. I really enjoyed trust falls. They helped me over come some of my fears, along with rappelling. I didn't really enjoy the activities that we did with talking, I found it more fun when we would actually do something physically, if it was the blind folds or fitness days. I'm looking forward to getting to know people in the other class, since I am going to 7th period. I expect it to be different, because now I have to trust new people, even though this whole first semester I learned to trust our class.

  2. The highlights of outdoor adventure was meeting new people and facing many challenges together. One that comes to mind is the wall (with bars and mats) activity, an interesting activity. I also thought the spoon activity was unique; it was was fun trying to find out how the "spoon camera" worked. One thing I did not like was the clock conversations. It created an awkward atmosphere to create conversations; the conversations felt really forced. However, other than that I liked all the things we did in outdoor adventure. I look forward to getting more closer with the class next semester and the end of the year field Trip.

  3. I didn't really enjoy the talking activites either although they were probably beneficial. The clock dates were awkward at first but they did allow a more personal conversation to get to know eachother better. The spoon activity was awesome although I'm not so sure what it accomplished. My favorite was by far the rappelling. I like how it requires both a physical and mental aspect to it. My expectations for next semester are extremely high. Now that we've established trust and learned the basics, the really fun stuff can start =D

  4. i liked all the activities that we did including the if you really knew me stuff. it really helped us know what kind of people were in our class. Hopefully no one shared anything about us out of class. The biggest challenge for me was the repelling. i am really scared of heights and this was my first rock climbing / repelling ive ever done.

  5. This was by far the best gym class i've ever had. Although i would like to get to know people more. I didnt really like the clock partners because i felt like i was being forced to talk instead of just letting it happen natually. I didnt like the "If you really knew me" papers only because some of them were annymos and that didnt really help me get close to that person. But, rappeling was so AWESOME! I never thought i would do anything crazy like that in my life but i did and it was great and it help a lot in other areas in my life.

  6. I really liked doing the trust falls first semester. I thought those were really challenging and they got me out of my comfort zone. I didn't really like the first few activities like the electrical fence activity or the amoeba activity because I don't really they benefitted our class as much as the later activities that we did. Second semester, I am expecting more challenges and I am really looking forward to the trip to Devil's Lake.

  7. I enjoyed rappelling and learning the different knots the most first semester. The different team-building activities were a lot of fun and beneficial in learning to trust our class. Similar to what everyone else is saying, I didn't enjoy the talking activities as much. It put us in an awkward position but it was helpful in learning about the different people in the class. Second semester I hope to find more challenging activities to bring our class closer as a whole.

  8. From first semester, I really really liked the trust falls, and I think that the class got a lot of out them, and that they were a really great step toward repelling, which I also like, even if I'm still pretty terrified of it.

The if you really knew me activity was a little bit awkward, but I'm glad we did it. I think it will probably be more beneficial to us if/when we do it again later, but I still thing there's something to be said for it.

I'm definitely looking forward to more activities second semester!

  9. This first semester was great in gym. I thought that this class was a great break from the day, so yay. Also the highlights were the trust falls and group activities that really let us get to know eachother. The best part was for sure rappelling because that's just so fun. The not so great part was maybe some of the frustrating activies that took forever to get through. Second semester I'm expecting to be even better with our trip =]

  10. I really felt like the trust falls helped us all get ready for rappelling and being able to trust everybody in our group, so that was my favorite thing we did because it made me alot more comfortable. I didnt like the talking activities as much, just because sometimes it got awkward when you didnt know what else to say. Overall though, this class is my favorite of the day :)

  11. I loved the really challenging team building activities. Especially the one when we had to get over the gymnastic bars. I love rappelling, too! My least favorite part was being forced to talk to people at the beginning. I'm usually not that scared to talk to people but since we had to talk to almost every person, it was tough. This class is so much fun and I can't wait for the rest of the year to unfold!

  12. My highlights of this year were trust falls and rappelling. Trust falls definitely prepared the class for rappelling. I really liked getting to know everybody better, as well. Certain team building activities I disliked, because at times they got frustrating. I'm really looking forward to the Devil's Lake trip, it should be fun.

  13. My favorite part of the year has been rappelling. My least favorite part of the year was trying to get over the rope in the gymnastics room, because it's annoying.

  14. I really enjoyed everything! I loved doing all of the team-building activities when we had to get everyone over the wall and the trust falls. I didn't like the date-clock thing in the beginning of the year though, it was kinda awkward. I'm moving classes this next semester, so hopefully I'll get used to the other class like I have here. I'm really surprized at how this class has helped me to really respect everyone. It was a great semester!

  15. The most memorable part of the first semester for me was when we did the trust falls. They were fun to do, but at the same time felt kind of risky so it was nice to get through them. The least enjoyable parts of the first semester for me were probably the times when we had to have conversations with classmates because I'm pretty terrible at starting conversations and it caused a lot of awkward silences. I hope we'll continue to face new, difficult challenges in the second semester.

  16. The highlights from 1st semester in outdoor adventure are meeting new people, some of the trust exercises were fun and rappelling. I didn't like some of the trust activities like the pretending to be a car thing, and some of the knots were kinda hard to learn at first. I'm looking forward to the Devil's Lake trip and meeting new people that switch classes and getting to know the classmates I have now more.

  17. I like the fact that everyday I come to gym, or adventure, and we're always doing something different, it doesn't get too repetitive, or boring. Out of evereything, I really enjoyed the team building exercises. Whether we were having awkward conversations, playing games with paper plates, or figuring out how Mr. H took a picture with a spoon.. and sooo many more, it was a lot of fun. I also liked the 'if you really knew me' it brought the class to a new perspective for me, the comment that Mr. H made about how people where masks, and hide who they are, really resignated with me, because its true!
Anyways. Trust falls really weren't my thing, but it was a biggg adrenalin rush to overcome falling! But I felt relieved after(: Now that I look back on it at the time I really did not want to do it, but I'm glad that we do things like this because these activities push you to do things that maybe aren't totally comfortable with, but it allows you to overcome any fears you may have.
I'm curious to see what we do next semester. (:

  18. The highlights of the first semester were meeting new people and getting to trust each other. One thing that I enjoyed doing was the "If you really knew me" activity because I get to know my classmates more and understand them better through those stories. I didn't feel comfortable with climbing up the "wall"(with mats and bars) since it's kind of risky. I really look forward to do more fun activities second semester and get closer with my classmates.

  19. The highlights in this semester were trust falls and rappelling. I would never had a chance to do trust falls and rappelling if I wasn't in this class. It was really fun and I enjoyed it. My least favorite part was talking with different people because it was awkward.

  20. The highlight of first semester would definitely be writing and listening to our "if you really knew me papers". Getting to everyone on that deeper level was so cool and I feel like we all really became more connected after reading them. It was such an awesome experience to see everyone open up and even the chance for myself to open up. It made me feel so much comfortable with everyone in class and I can't wait for the rest of the year. My least favorite part would probably be some of the team building activities we did, not all just some because at times they got very frustrating. I can't wait for second semester and I'm really looking forward to going to Devil's Lake!

  21. The highlight of first semester was getting to know everyone in the class. Based on the "if you really knew me" papers I learned that a lot of us are actually going through the same obsticles in life. By doing team building activities and writing these papers, I think we were able to bond as a class. At first, my least favorite activity was rappelling because I didn't trust the system and thought that I wasn't strong enough to hold myself up. But as I kept practicing, it became less of an issue. Also, the fitness days have helped me build a stronger upper body which has helped me rappell. Anyway, I'm excited for second semester because we will probably learn new climbing techniques!
